Premier League club Crystal Palace has released a video with details of the redevelopment programme of its Selhurst Park home.
Expected to cost between £75 – £100 million, the development will overhaul Crystal Palace’s home since 1924, simultaneously maintaining the club’s special passionate atmosphere, while providing state-of-the-art facility.
The work will increase the stadium’s capacity by more than 8,000 – from 26,000 to over 34,000, with a five-storey stand featuring an all-glass front acting as the centrepiece of the new structure.
A central vaulted arch, complete with the club’s Eagle crest, is a throwback to the 1851 Exhibition Hall.
The video gives supporters an insight into what they can expect the inside and outside of the redeveloped stadium to look like.
The planning application will be submitted next month, with work expected to start towards the end of the year. The main stand will remain open during construction.
