Bolton Wanderers FC has unveiled a new indoor domed facility at its Lostock Academy and training base.
The two-minute video shows timelapse footage of the new Academy Dome being constructed, something that has preserved the club’s Category Two status.
The dome itself was manufactured in the Netherlands, and was funded thanks to matchday lottery draws, which have raised the £350,000 needed to pay for the project.
Andrew Dean, the Promotions Manager at Bolton Wanderers, spoke of the ‘immense’ benefits which will ensure the club’s training is not disrupted by bad weather in winter.
“The benefit to this club is absolutely immense. It now means that we have an indoor facility where all of the youngsters aged eight and above from the Academy can train.
“Instead of them training outside in the winter months, the coaches can focus solely on their sessions.”
The video gives a flavour of the work that went into putting this structure in place.
